INDEPENDENT world cinema
Thunderdance film festival (TFF) is a bi-annual event set in the heart of Hackney. TFF focuses on independent cinema from around the globe and is split into a light and dark event spanning over a weekend of film screenings and networking.
We have a diverse judging panel of renowned directors, producers, actors and influencers. Our aim is to support every facet of independence in the arts. From the film maker to the popcorn maker.
The light event aims to champion all mediums & modes of film making, including narrative, music videos, animation & fashion films to name a few. The dark event solely focuses on darker and deeper subject matter. Ranging from thrillers & horror's to psychology and mental health based narratives.
This past June we had our first ever pop up in Cannes, France. In honour of it’s location it was themed crime of passion. The event consisted of a screening where we showcased up and coming director’s winning films along with an afterparty served in the beautiful Cannes sun.
